Job Description

Ultimate Staffing is seeking an NPI Product Engineer to join a client in Fort Worth. This is a full-time, direct hire position.

As a Product Engineer, you'll be the bridge between design innovation and manufacturing execution. You'll lead new product development (NPD) and introduction (NPI), ensuring products move seamlessly from concept to mass production. This role partners closely with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions and drive continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

Job Duties:

New Product Development & Lifecycle

  • Own the NPI process from prototype to production, ensuring manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Define and maintain product specifications and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D to integrate DFM and DFT principles early in design.
  • Manage upgrades, cost reduction initiatives, and end-of-life planning.

Validation & Failure Analysis

  • Lead product validation testing for reliability and performance.
  • Analyze test data, report findings, and drive corrective actions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and partner with Quality for compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as technical liaison between R&D, Manufacturing, QA, and Supply Chain.
  • Support supplier development and component qualification.

Project & Data Management

  • Manage schedules, deliverables, and documentation using PM tools.
  • Analyze yields and defects to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and revisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 3-5 years in product or manufacturing engineering, ideally in electronics or high-volume assembly.
  • Experience in NPD, NPI, validation, and failure analysis.
  • Skilled in FMEA, 8D, and root cause methodologies.
  • Proficient in CAD, ERP/MES systems, and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Minitab).
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • English proficiency
  • Willingness to travel internationally for training and program launches.
